Eastbourne is an ideal base for touring Sussex, being within easy reach of all the major attractions that the county has to offer and of course the South Downs Way with the spectacular scenery of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. Local attractions include boat trips to Beachy Head lighthouse, the Sovereign Harbour Marina and Eastbourne's Victorian pier where you can take a stroll along the promenade to admire the wonderful floral displays, or explore the historic Redoubt Fortress. Visit the unspoilt Cuckmere Haven and Valley, Alfriston village with its majestic church (the Cathedral of the Downs) and the Clergy House (the first property owned by the National Trust). Not forgetting Sheffield Park Gardens, Batemans or Nymans Garden. Enjoy the many Historic Houses and National Trust properties that are to be found in the area.
