There are many things to see and do in Inverness and the Highlands of Scotland. Inverness is the perfect place to base yourself whilst exploring with easy access to all of the key tourist attractions the Highlands has to offer. Some of the attractions that should not be missed include Loch Ness with "Nessie" the world famous Loch Ness Monster, Urquhart Castle both of which can be enjoyed on a Jacobite Cruise and Culloden Battlefield.
Inverness City was traditionally a market town and it still holds a lot of this character today. There are many excellent restaurants offering fresh, local produce and a selection of bars some with live music. Inverness has many shops including the obvious national names but many smaller more bespoke shops ideal for gifts and souvenirs.
Scotland's Castles - There are many Castles in Scotland and the Highlands Castles are especially popular with tourists around the world.
