About the Business
Callander is the ideal location for motoring to such places as the port of Oban on the west coast, historic Glen Coe & Fort William to the north and the home of golf at St Andrew's in the east. Glasgow and Edinburgh are less than an hour by car or you can let the train take the strain from Dunblane Station a twenty minutes drive from Callander. A day trip can incorporate a visit to a distillery such as Glenturret, to a museum at Stirling Castle, a palace at Scone, Scotland's canals - too many places to list.
If however you want to forget the car Callander is a Mecca for walking and cycling. Cycles can be hired locally. Much of the National Park is owned and managed by the Forestry Commission who provide an extensive network of paths suitable for walking cycling and even horse riding. Glen Finglas, owned by the Woodland Trust, is a particular favourite as it is described as a glen for all seasons. A large selection of maps covering the area are available from Footprint or any Tourist Office.
