About the Business
The House was built in 1851 by our famous local architect Thomas Owen, known locally as "Thomas Owen Southsea". We are very proud to share this unique building with all our guests. Proprietor Wayne served in the Royal Navy for twenty four years, nine of which he served on the Royal Yacht Britannia. Under Wayne's guidance, the Upper Mount House is benifiting from Britannia's prestigious standards. Come and enjoy the quiet, relaxed and friendly atmosphere under our personal supervision where quality and service are "second to none". We take pride in being one of the best privately owned Guest Houses in Southsea, Portsmouth backed by the AA Guest House Guide.
Situated in the town centre of Southsea all amenities are within walking distance and our large car park makes us popular with all our business and holidaying guests. If you are a regular Portsmouth visitor we are sure you will return again and again.
